Personal project
Alongside my work as a 1st AC, I recently took on a different role in the creation of a very special personal project — together with an incredible team.
Libertà is a Dutch short film directed by Dapper Bruijns and co-written by
Raoul Karadag. The story is inspired by the life of my own grandmother. By taking on
both the role of Production Management and Director of Photography, I was able
to stay close to the heart of the story.
All her life she has been a free-spirited and headstrong woman, determined to live
on her own terms. But when Alzheimer's begins to take hold, she is confronted
with a new and sobering reality. The illness not only erodes her fierce identity —
but also the self-image she has always known, the relationships that gave her
strength, and ultimately, herself.
About
"My grandfather, a former photographer, gave me my first camera when I was seven — a simple 35mm plastic point-and-shoot that looked more like a toy than a real instrument."
But from the moment I held that camera, I was hooked. Light, framing, and the magic of capturing a moment fascinated me instantly. Over the years, still images became moving images, and my passion for visual storytelling found its natural home in film.
As I grew deeper into the craft, it wasn't just the imagery that intrigued me — but the technology behind it. I became increasingly drawn to the tools and techniques that translate creative ideas into tangible, high-quality images.
Today I work as a 1st Assistant Camera, providing reliable technical support to cinematographers across commercials, music videos, and narrative productions. I'm experienced with ARRI camera systems (Alexa Mini, Mini LF, Alexa 35), DJI Ronin 2 support, car rigs, slider setups, and vertical video workflows. I work efficiently, maintain oversight on set, and ensure the camera department runs smoothly — from prep to wrap.
